Yes they do apparently. Probably more than £10k over 10 years.

My Barber got caught probably 25 years ago.It was long before contactless cards and online banking.
His wife had a good job and all his work was cash.

When he got called in he said they live of mostly his wife’s salary but they had already looked in to her accounts as well.I can’t remember the exact figures but he got hit for about 20k + interest  which he had to pay back in instalments.Took him years.

Making tax digital is not for are benefit.The problem is those that want to avoid it will still find away around it.

I only clean commercial every business goes through the bank so skimming a bit isn’t an option but the way are government wastes money sometimes I can’t blame people who do.

I’ve not found a tradesman yet who refuses cash.

No one will be able to avoid it as cash disappears. Its getting less and less as the years go on. Even buskers have card readers now!
