« on: July 28, 2006, 10:55:46 pm »
since i started up i took the advice of the wc who taught me...always wash the scrims on their own, on a boil wash with no washing powder...just softener, is this correct?

i just bung them all in the machine on a "quick wash" with nothing added

afterall they dont get that dirty and you allways have a bit of soap on them from the water

I was taught to boil scrims when new in a sausepan a few times before using them not sure you need to do that with the pre washed grade A scrims though, I have read on here that softener ruins scrims though so I havent tried it

Put them in the machine on there own, NO detergents what so ever, no softners at all, if you start to add this type of detergents and softners, you end up almost waterproofing your scrim, and that makes them almost useless, until its washed out.
