competitors calls
« on: July 27, 2006, 07:27:13 am »
hi all, competitors calls really annoy me, >:( i dont phone other c/c ers,  so why they hav to phone me wasting my time asking silly questions!

anyway i like to be able to better spot these as it can put me off selling when i feel its a competitor, what are the most common phrases they use, the ones i know are,

'what do i get for that price'

ask location, 'oh im just phoning around for qoutes'

'whats your avaiblity'

any helpful advice spotting these is appreciated,

craig

just ask for a name and address for future reference! and ask if they would like you to go and give a quote in person...........they usually just get shirty and tell you they only want a price......and usually hang up on you! sometimes it can be a genuine enquiry but usually it's from the sort of customers you don't really want! just price shoppers looking for the cheapest quote!and with the dirtiest carpets too, they clean the lounge once every 20 years whether they need doing or not!!!! ;D

Try not giving prices out over the phone if its local always insist on a survey.Only time I give prices over the phone is if I'm too busy to arrange survey or if its more than a half hour round trip

why does it bother you if a competitor is trying to find out your charges?
if they have time to phone you then it tells me that they are not that busy

if they are trying to undercut you, then let them

be confident in your business and don't worry about other companies
cause they probably don't provide the same service as you do anyway

Dudes

They usually name other carpet cleaners without you asking.
