electric motor repair
« on: June 29, 2006, 08:05:01 am »
Had a e/motor burn out on me in my raptor 400psi
took apart .looked absolutily knacked , sourced a new one , prices varied with the pump from around
£600 to £800    :'( :'(

decided to let a local electric motor repairers have a look ,
complete rewind, new ceramic lining, rewiring, and new bearings   £180 inc.
was assured , as good as a new motor  ,

apparently they recon , a bearing was prob worn , maybe a small peice sheared causing havoc
,just goes to show if you notice any change in sound from your pump get it looked at right away, unlike me :-[  :-[ who didnt really take much notice of the slight difference in noise.

Many tks Mike for your time in refitting, yet again a life saver ;)

Geoff.
ps the comp who repaired , will repair and ship.
who ever said dont knock before u try ,i never tried dog crap but i know i wouldnt like  haha
