Does the reel spin both ways or only one, just unpacked one today , 2 buttons on controller only one works and spins opposite way to direction sticker on side is this correct or should it spin both ways??

Only spins one way.

When your reeling out, the hose should come from the top of the reel.

2nd button is just a spare .free running when taking out .

Great bit of kit that HD reel made my day sooo much easier,I’m reeling out a fair bit of hose on each job it’s effortless you’ll think why didn’t I get this when it first came out.

Yes NWH looking forward to using it, hope it reduces wear in shoulder and pain I get from constant reeling in, after 10 years poling just need to press buy button for that extreme 18 I've nearly bought several times

what manual reel are you using?ive never experienced pain in my shoulder from reeling in.if you have a decent fixed reel in your van its virtually effortless.

i was the same, nothing better than doing a monster clean that you been on for hours then not having to reel 100 metres of hose in.
anything to help the body,arms and make the job easier
