I have been having trouble with my 40inch  ro. I have not had it for very long compared with my previous  ones.
The Tds has been  a problem to keep down so I have bought  a new one.
When taking the old one out I noticed that the  small skirt seal is kinked over(this flays out when under pressure thus stopping the bad water getting through!!! I have reseated it and tried to put it back in (twisting at the same time as recommended) I then pulled it back out and the seal is,once again,kinked over.
Anyone with a foolproof method to stop this from happening?

Use petroleum jelly. It seems to me your seals are not lubricated.

Hi thanks for the reply. Do you put the vaseline on the little "skirt" seal?
I have changed these before without doing anything so I must have just got lucky!!

Very thin layer only. Never had any issues doing it this way. Even when housing came apart due to overpressure  one of seals got kinked just turned it around when inserting new membrane.

Joking aside, I think you'd be better with a water based lubricant such as this:

I had this same issue and found that I had been inserting the membrane from the wrong end of the housing.

Why they dont give an  advice  sheet is beyond me!!!
