I suppose its sensible to stay indoors when the temperature gets as high as it was yesterday. But then your not earning😕

But you can also be sensible and work in those temperatures as well.
So it depends which sensible you wish to be..........

If it's above -4 c then we're working.

It's it too hot I guess you could go door knocking or do some leaflets.

You know what it is daz.

From leaving school up until about a couple of years or so ago I have worked 40 hour weeks every week for minimum wage. Always skint and always depressed with life.

I would say for about a year now I have been earning more than I ever have in about half the amount of time.  I suppose I am just enjoying the freedom a bit. If I want to go home early etc I can.

But it's also being made possible in that I'm not rammed out with work on that I can be a bit lazy here and there at the moment.

In my defense the other week it chucked it down all day Monday and Tuesday and wasn't workable imo. Yesterday was roasting, but what I didn't mention was I have no air con in my van and both of the windows will not go down. I was dripping wet thru after an hour or so and I felt a bit poo so decided to call it a day.

Generally though I work Mon to Fri. I'm sure as the years go on I will settle into a rythum and work 9-3 Mon to Fri like the real grafters on here or do 30 a day in 3 days etc.

I have been doing full days. No shirking for me just because it's a bit warm.

On top of this, my van is off the road and I'm walking everywhere.

It's not an ideal situation Daz, but it will hopefully only be for a few days.

Fortunately I have enough reasonably compact work to be able to earn enough to keep going.

I have plenty of out of town work too, but will catch up on this when I get my van back.

Couple of years now

Thats an old website, and an old van....Started out car valeting part time in 2014, struggled for a bit then started doing a few windows as well, realised windows was the way forward but stayed part time for a while working as an employee also... but then went full time self employed January 2016  doing a mixture of things, but im now about 80% window cleaning.

Its been 2 hard years of messers, non payers and constant advertising to get me to where i am now (250 ish customers ) however now im starting to enjoy it more as most of the rubbish has been weeded out now and i can go out and just clean windows mostly.

Not many affluent areas around here, lots of cheap window cleaners though that have made it hard to get decent prices.
To be honest my target always was 300 custys, im not sure what i want to do going forward, whether to stick with windows only or try other things etc, maybe employ i dont really know.

Come on - surely it's worth getting your drivers side window working!

Well yes it is. Stripped it down  the other day but couldn't suss it out.  Garage would be a day off work and a huge bill no doubt. Cant really afford it right now.

I'll just wait for winter  ;D

When my doblo leccy window jammed it was part of the frame which had fractured. Cost me £110 for the local garage to fit the new piece and get it working. They had it at 8.30 and I picked up at Noon.

hardly any of my work is on my doorstep mate.loads of cheap window cleaners near me all fighting over scraps.surely theres some nicer, better areas say 15-30 mins drive away?

i sold all my less profitable work years ago as i kept getting more and more work in affluent areas.i canvassed and leafleted like mad nearly every day for 6 MONTHS when i started.

its took a long time to get where i am today but its been worth it.if id of done things differently i would of targeted the affluent areas from the off as thats where the better money and higher hourly rates are.plus its nicer to go to work when you clean in stunning countryside/leafy suburbs coupled with earning a good wedge.bliss.
