« on: June 14, 2017, 02:30:25 pm »
I thought this may be of interest.....

http://www.parkers.co.uk/vans/news-and-advice/most-reliable-vans/

I was surprised to see the Vivaro in third place.

It's very interesting to see Mercedes at the top  !

The L200 does well although the Ranger is currently the best selling UK pickup - just not as reliable...apparently.

Merc has a reputation for some of the very finest engineering and some of the very worst. It seems to run in cycles and whether or not they are prioritizing money over quality or the other way around. I've seen fantastic, early nineties W124 E class cars with huge mileage that still look and feel like new and ten year old E class with terminal rot They seem to spend most of their time either in the top 10 or the bottom 90 - depending on if they're bothered. I like the CLK but can't stand the inconsistency.

I reckon there's only about a dozen Hyundai iload vans in the UK! That's why it doesn't get surveyed.

Mine however is lovely and reliable after 5 plus years. (And so it should be.)

And the aircon is still freezing. Bliss.
It's a game of three halves!

Intriguing. They seem to be early Aussie ones on high miles. They changed the turbo's for 2012 I believe.

They come with a 5yr/100K warranty here.

Mine's only on 28,500 but knowing my luck with it just being out of warranty it'll go bang now!

Still using a 2002 SEAT Inca, does the job nicely, and uses very little diesel.
100% trad, and doing ok.

Good on you John! I'm  using a 2004 Vauxhall Combo which has proven to be very reliable. Just thinking ahead a little, would like a van than can carry a 500L tank (rather than 350L) since I occasionally run out of water.

sprinters rock , we have a very old 1998 2.9 one (its the one with the gear stick on the floor) with 800k on the clock ! it was our first van we ever gotnew ,  we put it on the same day haulage back in the day, its been all over the world and been driven hard at times , and because it was his pride and joy its got chrome side roof and side bars , rows or spot lights on the roof and loads of leds down the sides sad

non-turbo, 143k on the clock, bought it a few years back, touched up a few little rust spots, can't complain.
100% trad, and doing ok.
