I have just fitted a third pump this year. I will not be using Vyair pumps any longer and I have supported them for 8 years. |There seems to be a fault with these pumps. The brush holder inside the pump which made of plastic just overheats and then melts which stop the pump working. Then haveing to buy a new pump. I am sick to the back teeth with this badly designed pump. I have a box of 4 of these pumps all with the same fault that's beside the ones I have dumped already. No spares are available. The worst is I have two pumps fitted one for in use and one as a backup. When the first goes the guarantee on the second is often expired and so results in a two pump purchase. It`s very inconvenient, switch on your pump and just nothing. Then Trying to find the invoice etc.I liked the fact that it is a 10 litre a minute pump.
Just replaced both with Sureflow and I hope they stand up to their reputation.
Has anyone found this as well?
It could be that the 10lpm pump is working too hard and overheating. I think its more of a transfer pump than a wfp pump. I had a feeling that it was the identical pump motor to their 5 lpm one but with a different cam. I don't recall any complaints with the longevity of the 5LPM pump.
I was tempted once when Vyair advised that the 5lpm pump was only drawing 3 amps. We later found out that the specs were 3 amps at 0 psi.
They aren't that much cheaper than a Shurflo for a Chinese manufactured pump and hence I would rather stick with my 5lpm Shurflos. One is 9 years old and the other 10 years old and still working everyday.
