Limp home mode.
« on: June 22, 2017, 08:54:46 pm »
Vans not up to its best currently.

Its gone into limp home mode, diagnosed "DPF" problem so is in garage tomorrow for a forced regeneration.

Which means lm off all day apart from a quick 1 before 8am.

Been working like a dog again lately so am made up to "have to" take the day off, eases the conscience. The paln is to take 3 straight days off till monday........but gone and booked a fsg and 1st clean for saturday.......cant help myself.

I suppose the "building" part of the round is always going to be the hardest, cant help wandering if it'll ever end. Get a reet buzz from it.

Our car aslo had this a few months back, needed a regen. £170

The van was done in a morning, cost £390.
The engine management light came on in winter , local garage said temp sensor and no bother.
Then the power train light came on and went limp mode.
Unsure what they did just glad tonhave normal van again.
They did say l had to give it more revs day to day to prevent build up again.

Forced regeneration of the diesel particulate filter. Sometimes you can just give the engine a blast at 3k+ for around 30 min and that will clear it. But when it goes into "limp home" mode you cant achieve the revs so you have to go to the garage and they do something there(??) And charge you lots of money.
