[SB Cleaning]

Hi all

I completely emptied my water tank over the weekend and changed to another van...now I have fitted system to new van both my pumps are not working...i can hear them working but no water is being pumped through them...there is definitely water running into the pumps but they won't pump through....i have tried adjusting the calibration but no joy...

Any ideas guys??

I don't think so mate as I have disconnected both inlet and outlet hoses and there's water running from tank to the pumps inlet....i can't work it out

Hmm, how about turning your pumps up to maximum and see if it forces the water through? It sounds like there's air stuck in the pumps but I haven't come across this before

Are they mounted in a different position to their original position?

Some pumps need to be below the water line, I'm sure the sureflo pumps are twin diaphram pumps and they need to be below the water line or they won't prime properly.

Try putting pump on van floor or lower if possible until it primes.

That's the advantage of using clear braded hoses as you could see what is going on like air in the system and track it back easily to a fitting etc. sucking in air. Still I bet as eggs is eggs you have an air lock. somewhere. Also have you used any chems in it recently as I know ddac can be a real pain in the arse  to get a pump primed and working properly?

It was airlocks I had to suck till I was red in the face but all sorted now

I had same problem early this morning, ran tank dry on a job Saturday and went out this morning with half a tank full, could I nothing get the pump to prime.
In the end I connected up to an outside tap and ran the water into the pump, sure enough kicked in right away
Lucky I have a connector between tank and pump

Turned up to a big house once, Turned on the pumps could hear them running but no water !   Hit them with a wrench in desperation, checked the connections and fittings until I realised . . . . . . . . Hadn't filled the tank !
Told the customer had to go home as there were some technical difficulties with the system
