as long as it balances out over the course of the year you ll be fine.(in other words keep picking up new work!)

ive reached a plateau over the last 2 years thats why im increasing prices.last year i earned around £600 more than the year before but for quite a few years previous its been a steady 3k a year more.theres not much more i can do as a one man band unless i work longer and harder(which im not going to do!).

work life balance is important to me but so is earning more money(not in a greedy sense but to keep up with inflation).

if you find your not picking up much new work then its the old canvassing and leafleting but you ll probably pick up some new work without trying  which will at least be at the same value as the jobs you ve lost (over the next month or two).
price higher/work harder!

Dont worry Dave. You will pick up more work. It just goes like that sometimes.

I've had 4 move out since christmas, struck a couple off for non payment bit I've piced up the same amount from fb and website.

What I recommend doing to ease the pain of this scenario in future is to have an ongoing advertising strategy in place constantly and keep this going whether you are full with work or not. It might be a daily fb post or maybe having 5k flyers go out every quarter. Something just to keep the enquiries ticking over.

Even if your stacked out its still good to get the enquiries you can  price them higher and when a good one comes along u can replace one if your worst jobs with it.

Imo keep advertising and keep trying to make the round better.

I have found one looses customer all the time. The part that frustrates me is they just leave and don`t tell me.  So often I will give two or so cleans before I find out when they don`t pay. Or if the want stop they don`t tell you they just stop pay. So you always get screwed.

Thats the beauty of our game, its never just one way. We dont just loose clients, we also gain clients throughout the year.
Its just frustrating when you may loose more than you gain. (Not talking capital value, just client base)

Why do you call it a game instead of a job?

A job implies hard work, this is a doddle so its more enjoyable, like a game. 😂😂

I'm the opposite, if I didn't have at least a  website or fb and did absolutely nothing my round would eventually diminish. Word of mouth and walk ups are few are far between for me. Maybe because there so many window cleaners about round here.

Yep, window cleaning has arrived at a saturation point. I knew this would happen. Its no where near as easy now. Back in 2004 you would get people wanting to pay more to get you to do them, i actually had one lady in Addlestone, Church road who paid me £165 to clean her windows with my state of the art water fed pole system every month it was only a 45min job. The money sloshing about back then was ridiculous, she didnt want to be seen to be cheap, and i had loads of customers like thus right up until late 2007

Now much of the opposite is true, plus over the years everyone jumped on the bandwagon and we are hitting a plateau
