Not been behind more than half a day all winter due to weather, but Tuesday was just a joke.  Every time i drove to a job it was dry.  Get out then its chucking it down terrential.  Did 1 hours work in the pouring rain in the afternoon with waterproofs on and im not kidding water was dripping down the inside of my legs, down my neck, in my ears, pretty much everywhere.  There was more water on me then i was using on the glass.

Thought this just aint worth it.  Sacked the day off at 2pm  Managed to do £150 last 2 days, not exactly happy but hey ho forecast looks better for the next few days, i'll be the judge of that.

That's the game.

I've changed my working pattern this year to combat that the best I can

I put all my best, easiest, most profitable work in the Monday and Tuesday

I now aim to make Monday and Tuesday my longest days, I was out working till 4 both days! Now I can have 3 steady days or a day off. Forecast has been bad all week but yesterday was nice and Monday I just plowed thru the downpours.

Obviously this doesn't work if you are stacked out, but after flogging myself to death the last 2 days and feeling absolutely wiped out when I had finished I am realising to work flat put 5 days a week like that isn't possible for your sanity.

A bit less work allows you to be more flexible, just up the prices and you have a good balance.

yep monday and tuesday here in the north west has been awful.i could easily have sacked both days off its been that bad but managed 2 half days.it looks marginally better for the next few days.

thank god ive got a heated seat in the van.its been great when dodging the heavy showers/having lunch!

I - by accident - well overpriced a job this week.  It was for the cleaning of a pitched roof of a garden centre.  The manager was going to - quite happily - hire a cherry picker, but the pitch wasn't great, I'm a cowboy, and the roof was safe, so I used a scissor lift for access and cleaning the edge of the roof, and just stood on the roof for the rest.

So we didn't need the cherry picker; there's £600 saved.

And the roof washed lovely; very easily with pure water.  No chemicals needed either.

We've had a top week and only worked three days.
