Which Truckmount is Best
« on: May 31, 2006, 08:43:17 pm »
HI,
we are new to this whole forum thing so forgive us if we do wrong !

We are looking to invest in a truckmount system but not really sure which is best??

We potentially have a large ongoing contract so we are looking for the right equipment to do the job and also operator training too .

Can anyone advise which systems are better or ones to stay away from.

Regards

Anna

Hi Mike

We are a contract cleaning company based in Central Scotland.

As for money lol  The same as everyone else we would like to spend as little as possible but our intention is lease a van and buy our equipment . I know that truck mounts are anything from 10 to 20 K  , what we are looking for is equipment that is good quality , durable , reliable and spares are readily available .

we wouldn't have a problem travelling to get get the right stuff fitted .

its not about getting it fitted, its about when it goes wrong :'(

do you ever get asked to do any pressure washing as part of your contract cleaning? if so it might be worth going for a Chemspec machine which runs upto 3000psi

woodbridges' panther range seems to be getting very good reports and is very competitively priced, they tend to be £2500 cheaper than comparative models of other supplier's

if you are planning on working over a 150ft from the van then you will need to go for a mid range unit or above.

this is a very big subject :)

Anna,

This is the Woodbridge machine, I have had it about 2 months and I'm very happy with it.

I paid £7550.00 + vat and another £750.00 for the sub-mounted tank, I can't compare with other machines but this one is at least £4K cheaper than other suppliers with regards spec.

All the suppliers will come to you and give you a demo, its best for you to decide, everyone on the forum's will say their's is best but how do they know.

Chemspec, Woodbridge, Prochem, Hydramaster & Altec are the main dealers in the UK.

Reason I went for the Woodbridge was because they are near to me and it was cheap! Where in the UK are you?

 Thanks for your input !

Mike I think your right, this is a huge subject with loads of different opinions and views , we have a powerwash/steam cleaning unit already but it would be handy to have another unit also if the cost wasnt too much extra.

My head is getting pickled already with all the technical jargon I have been reading, I guess that most  the machines on the market are good equipment. I think it will come down to service and cost in the end .

 thanks again

Hi Anna

Obviously I don't know the nature of your work, but having been involved in retail and office work around Edinburgh and  Glasgow I would, personally, look for flexibility when selecting, as the restrictions on access, is getting ludicrous, around towns.

Best wishes

Their machine do not need to be discounted they are reasonbly priced to start with. So far I'm up to 200 hrs on my Panther with no problems, I only put petrol in the tank and that's not a lot then clean carpets all day long. I wished to God I'd bought one of these machines years ago, but then again they only started making them last September.
