I may start to door knock around my area its been a while up until 2wks ago I had few flyers left so got rid so I am thinking of having a concerted push to top up as I have had a couple of old custys pass away and a few move I'm gonna target new area with decent property .and get rid of some of the dros
Hard work canvassing Dave but if you've got the nuts to do it I'd follow Mick Kents advice he seems to know what he's doing (never met him tho)
Below is what I used to do when canvassing....
If you've done a leaflet drop in the street I'd suggest calling back within 5-7 days of that drop so your company name / logo is still fresh in their minds (most won't have even bothered to read your leaflet but those that do and are interested will probably give you the time of day)
Most important thing is : record what you do on paper, this will save you time in the future.
Top of page - Anywhere street .com
1. NOI (no one in) - One for the future, could always leave another leaflet - this ones a keeper 'cos you've not spoken to anyone.
3. No thanks already go a WC - offer leaflet just incase they get let down. (up to them to contact you) scrub from list.
5. Quote £17 inc all frames n sills 2 monthly starting on your next visit to road(give 'em an approx date - 2 weeks from now etc) note address - name - phone number - e mail and when you're doing 1st clean on seperate piece of paper.
7. NOI
9. NOI
11. No thanks
13. Not really sure 'cos had problems in the past with windies and a rubbish job - "I'm cleaning Mrs xxxxs house at No.5 in 2 weeks time and have time to fit you in if you'd like? Grab details - SOLD.
15. NOI
17. Got windy
19. Got windy
21. Got windy ( You look up at windows and being the professional that you are realise they haven't been cleaned in 10 years and walk away without wasting one of your leaflets.
Do the same on the other side of the street and you've covered it for now!
When canvassing I always scrubbed the ones who claimed to have a current windy - they might ask you in the future when you're cleaning another house in the street - but don't waste valuable canvassing time on them.
This leaves No's 1,7,9 and 15 to re canvass on this side of the street (only possible 'cos you've written it down). If you decide to re-canvass this street in 12 months time it's really simple to save time and by default energy.
Worked well for me but I'm sure there are many other experienced hands that could add to my simple approach.
