seasonal door knocking/leafletting
« on: November 29, 2016, 12:07:41 pm »
We are still delivering lots of leaflets and I am surprised how much is still coming in. I do notice a big drop from summer months though.

Do you guys who mostly door knock still get a result in winter months or do you find a big drop?

Lee I would imagine leading up to christmas like most you will be getting quite a few one-off/add-hoc enquires too.

Hi Lee always interested to read your posts. They make interesting reading, even if it does create quite a commotion sometimes  ;D Looking forward to a video when you get to it. I'm picking up some tips from your growth anyway. All the best

Pickup when canvassing is so much quicker in winter months i find, with the early dark eves settling in it is easy to see who is in and who is not meaning speaking with much more potential customers.
Id have thought you would already know this though from your years of canvassing experiance running sales teams etc?

A good and useful post Mick. What a shame you felt the need to add the bit at the end! I do find a lot of people on here don't read things properly and I end up repeating myself time and time again.

So

I did canvass for years but only in the summer, never the winter.

I ran a sales team at the daily mail in an office not on a door step.

I also never door knocked during the day and am interested in how people view this. Clearly many people are not in but does it still get a result?

Ive never leafletted, but when I've door knocked Ive always found it on the whole to be reasonably worthwhile. Cant you combine the two - knock, if they’re in try to sell your service, if they’re out, drop a leaflet.

Iv door knocked to begin with in spring time and then couldn't be bothered so started advertising/ leafleting instead. I found that leaflets for me brings in a similar amount of customers all year round apart from August- that's always the quietest month throughout the year as I presume people are on their summer hols!

You had a sales canvassing team but only knocked in winter?
Explain as that really doesnt make sence?
Did you earn enough in summer to take the rest of the year off or something?
