Resin queery in van
« on: November 13, 2016, 08:28:19 pm »
Has anyone any idea how much my TDS will go down to if i had a large DI vessel in van with tap water coming from Tank ,  Tap water reading is 148,

this could be a reserve if needed if Ro or something goes wrong , and i need an alternative .    I make my pure in house from 300 RO set-up.

i havent been down this route before.

can you set a RO in van before DI to take water down before it reaches the DI.      would this slow the water flow down  getting to pole.

I noticed the van 4 sale on here with this set-up.

Yes I have my 4040 RO and DI in van,  I just connect the hose to the outside port at the end of the day and its
all automatic including shut off.
Outside ports so van can be locked if needed, the water goes from tap through the RO and fills the tank, its then put through
the DI as needed.
Its tap water in -pre filters- Ro- fills tank- inline strainer- pump- DI- out.
I can also bypass the DI for jobs where 0ppm isn't needed.

To answer your question new Di Resin will work at any tds level to produce 000ppm. However the higher the tds going in will determine how quickly the resin will get spent.  Have a play will the Gardiner DI resin calculator to get a rough idea how long a 25kilo bag of resin would last. http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/Resin_Calculator.htm

As far a putting a ro in the van before the di a 300 is way to slow so best option would be to use a 4040 RO in the van instead. Otherwise using a 300 RO still the van will spend hours and maybe days off the road waiting for the tank to fill depending what size tank you have.

after the new year ill have to look into producing more pure, which will involve something  like a 4040 set-up.
see which is the best way for me,     id rather not have it setup in the van mind.       what alternatives is there., this weather is slowing my pure batches up.
i use a 300RO, with a pure freedom booster pump, getting around 220 litres in 5 hours, which used to take 3 hours.
My problem is my kitchen is facing the front drive and gate.    cant fit an ibc tank there, takes up too much space., constantly filling 220 litre water butts up.

I will need more water after new year,  got more work now than before.     Out growing my faithull 300 RO., ITS DONE ME PROUD.

Sorry I don't get why you don't want a 4040 ro/di setup in your van?
