gardeners ultimate flocked
« on: August 09, 2016, 06:39:20 pm »
hi all
Used my ultimate flocked for few months now and loved the brush  , only problem  edges of brush bristles wear away too quickly so getting to corners of windows become a problem .
I know that bristles are soft  but there must be a  way to  make edges a bit more robust .
come on gardeners I love your products but do better on flocked brushes

Buy a new brush is probably the answer as a few months is a lifetime for a gardiners brush  ;D

This is all down to good bristle feel on the glass v longevity.

If we make the Ultimate Flocked brush with tougher bristles then it will feel like a completely different brush on the glass. It is a soft brush and is becoming a favourite among many cleaners who like this soft feel. However softer bristle brushes do not last as long as stiffer brushes.

It is a bit like using soft squeegee rubbers, they feel great on the glass but last a lot less time than hard squeegee rubbers. I personally always use softer formula squeegee rubbers, but find that the edges of them wear out quickly and need quicker replacement.

In testing we did make a tougher flocked version of this Ultimate, but the the brush just didn't feel as nice on the glass. It is a soft brush and will not last as long as the Super-Lite Compact Flocked http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/brushes/super-lite-window-cleaning-brushes-245g-270g/super-lite-compact-brush-1708.html

or Super-Lite Flocked brush
http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/water-fed-poles/brushes/super-lite-window-cleaning-brushes-245g-270g/the-super-litear-brush-dual-trim-flocked-standard-splay.html
- however both of these brushes will feel different on the glass and are a bit heavier.

Of course if you wanted to look at a mono-filament brush there are several choices in the Medium versions that will usually last longer than the flocked versions.

Is Richard still selling stuff as I know the stock of his lighter brushes that he came out with had issues with bending out of shape as you found out?

Absolute rubbish, all soft bristle brushes don't last, at least Alex is honest enough to admit that.
When I say they don't last I mean they get ugly looking out of shape very quickly, but they still more than do the job in the right hands.

yes the tecbuk stock was realy bad i had to that bent like bannahs  ;D he is still trading but i wont buy any more off him due to the poor custmer service  and the poor qualty stocks, but the bristels are the best out there like i said tecbuk bristels on the supreme stock would be the best combo ever , i no lots included alex dont like to be critersized, gardners are a top compney but,  there supreme brushes arnt up to there cheep tho so ide rather buy supreme brush every 3 months than buy a tecbuk  ;D

I understand  what u are saying  alex   but Viking  make a flocked  brush  that is longer lasting .
I think if you  pack out the brush with more bristles that  will help.
like I said the brush is dam good when its not collapsed on the sides

The New Super-Lite Compact Flocked would be the more densely packed equivalent to the Ultimate Flocked. Should last a good bit longer although is a bit heavier and has a more solid feel on the glass.
