Anyone have an idea how much the mains water pressure will drop after going through 1 off each  20" sediment & carbon filter. Trying to get an idea if i can get away with using a booster pump as i'm going to upgrade to a 40-40 before winter and i'm presuming the mains pressure after pre filters is what should be measured before choosing a membrane (i dont currently have a pressure gauge to test) just looking at a general figure.

I remember testing my water pressure ant it was 48 psi so not good at all, but every tap will be different.

There should be very little drop off after a sediment filter, mine is 0.

Carbon filter, not sure but I'd imagine very little.

yes mate, I probably haven't explained properly i mean what is it out the tap and then after the pre filters i'm trying to get an idea on how much it drops if at all.

When the prefilters are new there is no difference in reading between the two on my 4040.

Once the sediment prefilter gets clogged then the reading after the c/b drops.

Sediment prefilter 5 microns. Carbon block 5 microns.

I once used a 1 micron carbon block prefilter and the difference was slight to begin with and became worse as the c/b also got clogged up with sediment.

Our water is very sediment laden sometimes.

The pressure will be the same its the flow which might drop. Two very different things. It`s for this reason you don`t need to put a pump in front of filters  vessels. They do not have back pressure.
