Hello, Ive bought a bigger bilge pump which just fits through the ibc lid hole.  As a result I have decided to leave it permanently in the tank, but now I can't think of the best way to reach the transfer hose.  I can think of two options. First method is cut a hole in the lid and run small amount of hose through the lid. I dont want loads of hose on the tank so when I transfer to the van use geka couplings to attach another length of hose and run it the van

Second method is to drill hole in the ibc and fix a 1.25 coupling.  Inside the tank the hose it fixed to the coupling and when I need to I simplify fix the hose to the outlet.  This would be my first choice.  I don't even know if this coupling is available.

What do you guys to transfer without cutting big holes in the ibc

Doesnt really help as i cut a large opening in top of my ibc. Well, 3 cuts, so its more like a flap that i can pull up and then secure back down.

If the hose is inside the tank how to reach it when it drops to the bottom of the tank

My pump sits on bottom of tank.  My tranfer hose comes from pump up n out the hole and sits on top of a shelve that sits on the tank.
I also have tied some spare pole hose to the pump and to the shelve so i can easily lift out the pump and attend to it etc.

Go with your first option, why over complicate things ?

My hose also sits in tank but where it comes out the top, I've cut it a put a male connector on. The rest of the hose is coiled up ready to fill van, this section has a female connector on...

just post a pic,    its easier to get an idea as what to do that way.  when overthinking things we go the long way around an easy solution

Been using this for years. Found it in a skip.. 1 inch transfer hose fitted onto it.
