I'm not sure, but I think this is a company Clive Ware uses and he says to me its much better than YP.

I can't be totaly sure, maybe he can come on here & tell us.
I think he told me it cost him £800 a year but well worth it.

All these companies sound well and good but have any of you asked them where they advertise their directories when they are trying to get you on board? my view is if they advertise extensively in my area I would consider using their service.

ridiculous price imo

and a waste of money.

Craig,

You dont have anything to back that statement up.
Clive tells me different, when he see's this he will give his opinion.

I agree a lot of these advertising scams are crap, but I'm not so sure about this one!

Hi all,

i was aproached by Kevin Byrne a few years ago. He was running a carpet cleaning business and a printing business in the next village to me.
His Idea was to run an advertising leaflet with all the service trades on who were vetted and who could supply genuine reccommendations. At the time it was called" the trade register" and had the phrase "helping to keep the cowboys out".
I went to the launch and met all the other tradesmen who were advertising in it, most of them who i knew, and have never looked back. I have advertised in it ever since it started and get by far the most response than any other advert year in year out. i don`t know if the response is different in different areas but I would reccommend it to anyone. I advertise in Y.P, Thompsons, B.t and parish mags but none of them come near to checkatrade. You give the customer a monitor form to fill in when you finish a job which they fill in and send to checkatrade who then put it on there website for all to see.
It is by far the best £800 a year I spend!

Clive

Craig, you may not have it in your area yet.
When an area is targeted, a leaflet is put through the door every six months and various retail outlets display them including tescos.
