I tried a Nissan Leaf once and was quite impressed. Not sure what size tank you could carry or if indeed you could secure one (I guess the batteries might be under the floor) My whole round is within five miles maximum.

I know it's a million miles away from that van but...... I went go karting a few weeks ago and the karts were electric. I was very surprised at just how quick and responsive they were!! Wouldn't bother with the van though myself, I don't think they are economically justifiable yet and most probably wont be for some time.

Would say the biggest problem would be the reduced payload due to the weight of the batteries.

I would want a small fuel tank as back up due to the relatively low range.
My biggest problem though would be re-charging.  Usual thing, live in a flat with no guarantees about where to park etc.

Don't know what sort of torque you would get from an electric van. Probably not enough to cope with half a ton of water.

Be ok for part timers, people using 300-400L a day or SeanK. He'd only need to charge it once a month.

That's the thing. MASSES of torque. Still, nothing better than a petrol eating v8 those days are gone

Get a milk float they used to run for miles and loaded up with glass bottles must have a fair payload

I had he Nissan Leaf for 48 hours . Very I,prestige and very quick .
But our lass bombs about and the 105 Mike range is more like 85 .

The Tesla us 200 mile range and about £40-£70k .

But a £30k tesla with 200+ range is suppose to be coming out.
Still out of my price range .

The elctric rpvan be no good for me , I travel a fair bit , relay to van mount battery and heater on full blast in cold mornings

Problem is his retired now and only does about 6000 miles a year
