Do they really make the resin last longer than the standard DI Vessels?

My brother has one and he said his resin always reads 002 or above when he puts new resin in.

Sounds like he needs different resin then !

They work differently to a standard DI tank (supposedly they don't create channels in the resin so the resin is evenly used up) but never used one myself so can't really comment how effective they are.

Sounds odd to me that using new resin would come out at 2 no matter what type of di tank or even a 10" canister is used.

Yes that's why im not sure about forking out for one as they are quite expensive.

He uses Tulsion Resin for the same supplier as me and my new resin always reads 000tds

Maybe the screens inside the tank are contaminated with bio matter hence the higher reading?

I asked a few months ago about  di 's. I was using an eleven  litre the question I asked was would two smaller ones be better than one large one nobody could give me a proper answer so I got two smaller ones and I get at least one to two weeks longer use out off my resin might not sound a lot but over the year I bet I save at least £75 pound on one bag off resin

Two 11ltr bottles would have been a better option, it wouldn't save you any more cash wise but would mean less  emptying and filling over the year.

I know what your saying Sean but I'm a bit off a tight git lol so the two smaller ones are better for me

I bought the 25 litre one when my 11 litre di vessel got too old and leaky. I haven't had it long enough to comment sensibly on whether it saves resin but what i did find that filling it is a doddle but emptying it is a nightmare. The water exit pipe is not attached to the head but an integral part of the body and makes getting the old resin out a major exercise. I phoned both the distributor and the manufacturer for advice and neither of them could offer any simple solution. Major design  flaw me thinks.
