Do I need to rinse?
« on: November 29, 2015, 12:35:05 pm »
Hi guys. Apologies if this is a stupid question. I have a di vessel and my tds is 000. However I have just put about 100 litres into a new tank in my van, just to check that my fittings are water tight. My tds is reading between 007 and 011 from the tank. Do I just need to rinse the tank to bring the reading down, as clearly between the hose and the tank my water isn't pure? Thank you...

If it's coming out at 007 to 011 I take it you filled the tank up with TDS 000 water or else you've got great tap water! ;D
Have you no DI Vessel you can use in the Van?
If you don't want to waste the 100 litres put it through the DI vessel again if you're really bothered.
But if you're filling the tank with pure and it's coming out at only 7 to 11 I wouldn't worry, you can clean windows with it at that level of purity! It should go down in time as long as you keep it clean. :)

Agree with Positivity if its around the 11ppm mark then I wouldn't worry about it and if it is the new tank then the next couple
of fills should sort it.
