No but if you clean using hot on single pane glass the risk I would have thought would be much greater.

Have 2 customers that have had glass crack due to diff between internal and external temp on very cold winters days so would have thought any sudden change would increase the risk think I will stick with cold

Outside temp was 1 or 2 degrees, and my water was 30 at the brush head. Way too hot.

In winter you only want Luke warm water.  Has all the benefits of cleaning with hot, but lower cost to produce and little to no risk of thermal shock.

I'm sure the rule of thumb was you want your water to be no more than 20 degrees hotter than the ambient air temperature.

So in winter, 20 degrees at the brush head and no more.

I never cracked glass - but was always careful about temps. In the winter the water should only be lukewarm - - but even at that you'll find cleaning is quicker and hoses are MUCH easier to work with....

im surprised at those temperatures.

what im thinking of doing is before i set off in the morning is running the pump/heater for 30 mins on a very hot setting back into my tank which will give me luke warm water on freezing cold days.

You've got the stuff so why not try it and see what happens. I know another user would be interested in your findings. I expect that heating on demand is the best way though.

Its an interesting idea of 150 liters of hot water being fed back into your tank. The hot water in our hot water tank always rises to the top of the tank and hot water is drawn from the top.
Our wpf tanks are different in that our water is drawn from the bottom and hot water rises. Whilst driving will tend to mix the water, I would think that you are always going to get cold water at your pole.

I use my diesel heater flat out in winter and have never fracked a pane of glass,if you listen to some Windows when your cleaning them they give you a clue if the waters to hot on that day,I can't believe someone has had a double glazed unit go on them there's loads of flex in PVC frames.

Don't think its the frames that is the problem more likely to be the glass itself

Dazmond, start with your temperature at maximum then when you crack a pane turn it down a little by the end of the week when you stop cracking windows you'll get the perfect setting.

 Most of the time when glass cracks its a defect in the glass in the first just need a nudge to push it over the top. I had one shatter  the problem there was. No spacing in the frame between glass unit and the frame as only one inside glass broke.  When replacing I noticed how snug it fitted. From my own experience of fitting these units, you will need 8 mm inside the outer frame all around. This was a new build with not room to expand at all. We take the chance, but it can often be the fitter that did a crap job. We carry the can for other bad work. All you need is a small defect and it`s gone.
