EXTERNAL transfer pump
« on: November 16, 2015, 06:47:11 pm »
Hi,

Can anybody recommend a good EXTERNAL transfer pump and best place to buy it?  Most I've seen require a small mortgage!!!! :-(

TIA ;-)

We have used one similar to these for near on eight years.

Not sure about the self priming bit as we have to manually prime ours if we drain it down. (We have only primed it twice. The first time was when we fitted it and the second time was when we drained it down due to the freezing weather we had a few years back over Christmas. Thought it was a good idea as we were away over that time.) It sits in a cupboard above the IBC tank and the pipe that goes into the ibc tank has a footvalve on the end.

We use 1" transfer hose.
