Best small van opinions
« on: October 05, 2015, 06:28:05 pm »
As title says, I'm on the market for a new van but unsure what to go for.
I want something small that can handle a 500 litre tank. I don't do gutters, jet washing etc so don't need a big van for any extra kit.
Iv currently got a Peugeot expert that has caused me all sorts of problems over the last few years ::)roll
My budget for a new van is up to 9k all in. Any recommendations?

I've got a new berlingo, the 850kg payload enterprise model. Fitted with a 450 litre tank. Great van, very happy with it. Youd get a belter with your budget.

Fiat Doblo, I used to have the Doblo Maxi, 1000kg payload, twin sliding doors, was a good van, the only issue I had with it was the terrible turning circle.

Thats what I'm looking at citroen berlingo.

Or equivalent Peugeot partner (I think it is? )

Know its not a true 3 seater but could get my 10 year old daughter in
With mrs.

Have a family car but so many times the extra seat in van would have been useful.

I'd never considered the berlingo, thought it had a tiny payload! Will have a look at some, cheers

I do like the look of the doblo maxi, but, its a fiat lol. Such a bad reputation.

ive been looking into changing my van in the near future and like you need a 500 tank for 1 man.

this is what ive looked at and why ive decided against them.

budget similar to yours and been looking at low miles under 2000 miles pre reg / nearly new as seem better value than brand new and one say 4 year old 40000 up its chuff

ford courier ... too small as about 650 payload but ok for 1 man with a 400 tank ... £7500+vat ish
ford connect new shape £9500 to £10500 +vat
Vauxhall combo ... its a rebadged fiat bur can get them within budget
fiat doblo ... cheap as chips but its a fiat

comes down to Peugeot Partner 850 kg model ... if u ok with bog spec then u can get them from about £7500+vat or spend about £8500+vat and u can get latest facelift professional model with aircon / sat nav and Bluetooth phone

these seem to be one of the cheapest about but dead easy to search on autotrader

Do your poles fit in the back OK?
Also where do you get a 450 litre tank and how do you secure it?
I can only find tank frames for 400 or 500 litre tanks..

Managed to get a Citroen dispatch, 13 plate, 27,000 miles on the clock for only £7400 no vat in the end. Bargain!
