Hi guys have been looking at getting a newer van and bigger setup as currently in a connect using around 12 barrels a day and all the lugging around is driving me crazy! 

Had been looking at traffic, vivaro etc as they have the payload I'd like to get a 600l tank in etc. Came across vans like this slightly above my original budget but because there so new and so much cheaper I am tempted. But very curious as to why they are so cheap? Can anybody that knows the trade a little help explain, is there likely to be a fault of some sort?

It's the first time I've seen new so cheap, even on the renault website they start at 22k?

Probably an obvious answer to most but I'm a bit out of my depth!

Commercial vehicles are listed at CV list price without Vat added .

Why do you need a 600ltr tank if a sole trader , I have a 400ltr tank and manage just fine most days could do with another 50 litres some days will probably buy 2 containers for the odd day .

your looking at pre reg there not new not used but a pre reg which is basically a registered new van / car with delivery miles.

its a method used by all manufacturers to increase recorded sales figures of new vehicles.

get ur self on auto trader and do some searching ... make sure its from a main dealer and not a middleman site as may be an import with different spec to uk vehicles if not direct from main dealer.

myself I have been looking at used with about 40k on them however for about £3000 to £4000 more I can buy a pre reg puegeot partner van so after tax write down makes good sense to pay a little more.

Mike I am looking at 600 - 650l tanks as I will need to be buying the water from somewhere a slight drive away so would prefer to have enough for 2 days. Also looking to the future should I get someone out with me on the odd day to begin with I'm hoping that would be enough for 2 men per day.

Personally, my experiences with a Trafic were offputting.  The gearbox needed changing around 40,000 miles  (a common problem)- though I understand this issue was eventually fixed.  It required further maintenance around 90,000 miles.  However, the niggling stuff that goes wrong with them can be a pain - stuff like door locks even.  It can feel like a van that has been made with car parts - i.e. not sufficiently robust for commercial purposes.  They are a smooth, comfortable drive though with plenty of leg room - not so relevant for most window cleaners who will need them for shorter runs.

Their is some really good deals at the minute as van and car sales are slowing .

Am a renault fan mate,

I used kangoo van before the trafic and used a 350 L tank, am not all wfp so this done me each day, weight wise it prob would of taken another 150 L  so 500 L tank easy, so if your staying on your own think this sized van, ( kangoo berlingo partner connect type van ) big difference in fuel going upto to trafic van but more suited to my needs and use a 650 L tank now, working with pump flat out and not moving the van I can empty this in just over 4 1/2 hours if am not connected up filling as I work.

Nothing flash about my system mate, it's all diy and most bits were bought of eBay.

There is a trafic van with basically wot Ian has said in renault Wirral for 10k plus vat same new shape in link, infact I sat in it the other day with sales guy coz I was pondering on it, bought in bulk to get better deals they have about 10 they said.

Maybe worth a call or a visit to your local renault dealership ( not a franchised one part of renault uk )

Tom you need to read the warranty info, those vans are sold as seen for spare parts or repair if its something like
a faulty computer you could be talking more than the cost of a new van to put right.
Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Just my opinion, the colour coded bumper will annoy you and stress you. Well, it would me.

Yes Sean that applies to the sellers "Trade Clearance Vans".
But not the pre reg vans (Vivaro, Traffic) in the links.
