Experience in thermoplastic paint removal anyone...
« on: January 09, 2016, 01:24:30 pm »
Had some enquiries regarding paint removal from a car park and warehouse - surfaces are Tarmac and concrete paint is thermoplastic line paint, done a little research, seems it can be removed by high hot pressure and you can hire the equipment but anyone have experience of this, good or bad, are their alternative methods of removal ?

Interested in your experiences in this type of cleaning

I've only watched  chaps remove double yellow lines on a road by my house. They just burn the lines off with what looks like flame throwers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J6RvVace9Q

Yes I always thought they just burnt it off, but this causes toxic fumes and damages the surface - I'm not sure that's a sensible approach inside a warehouse  :-\

Darren ,
They do hire their BASIC  Falch machines out however you will have to undergo their training on them first.
Their kit is , at the top end of the market and understandable not cheap to hire . Plus you need to ammend your plant insurance !
