This is something i have been thinking about for a while.  Something to offer beside window cleaning as i have had quite a few people ask if its possible.
I found a few companies online that do this sort of thing, one that looks the best is gethemistout. Works out at £5/6 per window and they claim that you can charge £45 per window. which sounds a lot i actually thought 20/30 was plenty. If you buy the kit of them they offer a training day.
Was wondering if anyone offers this service or knows anyone that has tried it.  Any thoughts.

There is no one offering this service where i live and am sure there would be a demand. Big plus is that it can be done on days where its not possible to clean.

If anyone offers this service i would love to pick your brains before i invest in the kit.

Don't touch it with a barge pole. The units need replacing, end of story.

I was speaking to someone who invested in a franchise for this only last year. He said it's a complete con, that it doesn't work and was an absolute waste of money.

As has been said, steer clear it doesn't work.

I would also like to see what happens when you try to drill a hole in toughened glass.
Now that has got to be worth watching a video  just to see the look on your face as it explodes and shatters onto the floor

Seen it done .drilled holes on the spacer bar on the top of the unit.lasted a good year.

You will do more damage getting the glass out.

A residential home I do has just tried this and it never worked
Glass just condensated up again
Some bungs were left out and water got into the glass whilst I was cleaning
They sued the company and are putting new windows in

I know they bust some windows trying to drill them

I'm a time, served glazier.
New DG units are filled with dry air and sealed. After 5+ years, the seal tends to break, therefore allowing normal air to get between panes.
The unit MUST be completely replaced.
Give it a VERY wide berth, mate.

All good advice, talking to a glazier a few weeks back, total waste of time drill 2 holes fill with pure water then drain it out and leave, come change of season the window mists up again.

For an extra £10 most units can be replaced rather than bodged with this "repair"

Just fill the unit full of water and seal it up...no more condensation LOL ........
or fill with water and put some slim fish in the unit..... a Window Aquarium ...it's the new 'must-have' LOL  .

if you want a relatively stress free working life stick to regular window cleaning jobs!

I've seen it done. The mist goes, but you're left with the problem of dry stains inside the glass. Meaning the windows still look a mess.

As has been said earlier, stay well away from this and just replace the units with new if you know what you are doing and certified.
Better still leave it to the professional fitter who has all the certification or go and get trained.
I have seen over the years some really badly fitted replacement units.
Not packed out with spacers, incorrectly packed out, wrong glass fitted when it should have been safety glass, and that was in a set of french doors if the young children of the family had run into the glass, well you can imagine, the list goes on.
