Personally I dont let anyone get way with knocking me,as it's the principle not the money, you've done what she asked so in my thinking she has to pay,as I'm sure you did a good job.
When your pd off go knock her her door

I used to get this sometimes when I was working as a milkman.  Just be persistent and when you're in the area keep knocking for the money (at times that suit you). You may end up having to write it off as a bad debt but at at least you'll have tried. At least you know not to clean her windows again!

It's does pee ya off when custards are like this,  but I would let her stick the money up her back side, the little tramp, knock again and tell her that if times are that hard she can keep the money.

A bit easier for me as am commercial so unless they gone bust you generally get paid, even tho am still waiting on invoices from last year,  ??? they come in the end, but some total over 5k and outstanding to April 5th is well over 10k,

Put your hose through her letter box in the door for a few minutes. It might not get your cash,  but you will feel a lot better. ;D ;D ;D

Id feel a lot worse if I did that.

However, I also wouldnt take somene on if I knew prior to the event that they were on benefits. Money is always going to be short and you're going to be bottom of the heap.

You've no guarantees you're going to get this money, but if she continued to lie about it as she obviously is it'd make more determined to try. How about you send your girlfriend/wife round, she might answer the door then you get to appear from the hedge to surprise her. Still no guarantees. If you want to be petty and do something really immature fill her hanging baskets up with grass seed as well as the borders in her garden. But dont do anything that could land you in trouble. Sticking a water pipe through someones letter box is criminal damage.

The only words of comfort that I can give you on this one is if you don't end up getting the payment you wont be
the first one on here.
Its a rite of passage that everybody who has ever done work for Joe Public has had to endure, we are lucky that it usually
isn't a huge amount of money we get stung for.
By all means try to get the payment but don't forget time is money and sometimes its just better to cut your losses before you
get back less than you invested.

Agreed, believe it or not even if you where to rub dirt back onto her windows you could be done for vandalism.
Some of these scumbags know every trick in the book.

Put it down to experience. Let it go. But try not to let it happen again. If it's a lesson learned then it's well worth the money.
You'll develop a gut reaction for this kind of thing. Businesses get screwed every day.

I had one yesterday. Get them every once in a while and in the grand scheme it won't affect your life one bit.
If you turn up to a first clean and the garden is a state, Windows untouched for years then don't bet on them becoming a regular. One of my guys just returned from today's work and one of them is as described. I might refuse these in the future unless paid fir in advance.
