It's not a mod :(

I met Jordan King at the show and he showed me the fairlead rollers.

Basically the blue plate rollers that Grippa and Gardiner sell are no good under tension.

The plastic black roller part "digs" into the metal part which makes it bind. I didn't know that until I looked under my van and used my electric reel. The plastic black part basically digs in and physically stops.

The fairlead rollers that are sold don't do that. It's impossible for that to happen.

Have you link to these rollers please or someone i can contact. I brought 1 of the blue rollers from Grippatank (the right angled 1) and fixed it to my bumper after the first pulling the hose reel out and winding in the plastic guides just scraped against the metal and made deep grooves in them. Oliver at grippatank then advises they cant be used under tension (i don't why they don't mention this on there website) but if you are going to put the slightest bit on tension on them they are useless overpriced junk.  Grippatank basically said the i had put my roller in the wrong place and it wouldn't work like that, however i drilled the 4 fixings off and filled enough off the plate away so the rollers do not catch the metal and it works fine now.

My floor setup works fine as its electric and I don't know what effort is required to reel in as such.

Changing to these rollers under the van tho. Inside no tension. So don't need to change em THANK god!!!!!!

it wasn't the effort needed to reel in on the blue guides its simply as you said there is no gap between the rollers and the metal and so the slightest bit of tension and the hose pushes the roller onto the metal and the hose then starts forming grooves in the rollers because they are unable to turn. I use a hannay reel which doesn't need a lot of effort to reel in.
Thanks for the link but do you have 1 for the l shaped version or are you getting this specifically made for you?

Mine made groves from day one, its only caused issues after about a year or so.

I used cox manual and now cox electric.

I am having a new roller system made tbh under than van as came up with a better solution for my setup.

ok cheers but that link is to the origional roller that tim gq used & had to cut into his bumper to fix on van
so do you mean that's the better way than the L shaped roller after all
