Hi all, ive been asked to Stainguard some dining room chairs, the chairs in question have upholstery on the seat on the back rest, however the back rest doesnt cover all of the wood, i quoted accordingly and the customer raised a concern that other cc's said they couldn't gaurantee that thier stainguard wouldnt cause the varnish in the wood to bleed. I decided to seek advise by an experience CC and without mentioning names (without permission) i was advised a good way to get round this would be to maybee coat the wood in a silican such as the stuff you use on your dash in the car, this would protect the wood while i apply the fabric protector and then i would wipe of the silican as soon as im done.
I like this solution but wanted to share it and also see if there were other ways around this problem, purely because im curious?
Any Ideas?
