my 22 slx hardly gets used these days.

extreme 25 used every day for nearly all work.i dont see the point of buying one and not using it for all your work.first one lasted 18 months(top 2 sections very worn now)i will buy 2 top sections for it one day and itll last another 18 months IMO.

i have 3 extremes(two 25 footers.one 47 footer).

best brushes are the new supreme brushes IMO.good balance between extreme and standard SL brushes.the stock is much better/more solid which will reduce bristle wear at the edges.easier to clean sills and scrubs better than an extreme for sure.

just buy one ian.they are excellent poles esp now they have metal clamping bands. ;D

I use the original slx Mk 1 with the top section missing so the top section is a no. 2 section. the top of the pole is less whippy than the new slx's (which start with a No1 section. If I buy a new Slx I buy one length longer than I need and discard the first section so the pole is sturdier if that makes sense  :) so it's like using an extreme for rigidity but with the extra weight so can give it loads of abuse and throw it around from time to time unlike the extremes which won't handle heavy handed abuse

how can you do away with the first section of an SLX as the gooseneck wouldnt fit on section 2? ::)roll

;D I thought wfp was rubbish when I used Vikan Sill brushes. Still say it's a poor method of cleaning although my customers think it's great.

It's not perfect but neither is trad. Best thing i did was swap to sill brushes tho.

Yes, lots of beginners seem to start off with sill brushes. I'm a swiveller myself.

Cut a small section of no1 longenough to house the gooseneck or fit some other sleeve on the gooseneck like fibrefix. I use fibrefix to make extra clamping points on my extreme poles where Im in tight spaces because of traffic but want the poles at just the right length where they clamp or rather don't clamp without stretching so make my own clamping points where I want them.

ok i guess that works for you mate.

I went from a 22 SLX to a 25 extreme and I think it's worth it. I've got elbow problems and it's noticeably different to use, especially going over connies etc. It doesn't feel quite as robust as the SLX but just don't abuse it. At home I use dewalt drills etc and I don't abuse those either! If you're a big strong lad then the SLX is good. If you feel you have a reason to buy it then you won't be disappointed. I do actually think you can work quicker with it.

reason was to hopefully work quicker but my wrist does ache a bit after a long day of poling (que the pervy jokes now  ;D)

This might help...  http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=193662.0

I use the Xtreme 25 for my work which is mostly domestic stuff. I'm very happy with it. I've had a clx and SLX, still got them both, still use them occasionally. But the Xtreme is excellent, more rigid, light (obviously) and I find it quite robust. I had the second section snap on me, but it was because I had the habit of giving it a whip movement to remove excess water. Stopped that now. Worth the money imo
You gave it a whip and it snapped, that says a lot, stick with your slx.

 ;D ;D ;D

I tend to agree. I see a sill brush and think- zero technique/skill, probably relies on a flat out flow rate & just hopes for the best!! ;D ;D
