Frost has knackered my bolier:( FIXED :)

As title. Frost has burst a small copper pipe in the boiler. Water is flying out. I currently am trying some plumbers mate sealer to see if that works but im not hopeful. Can a copper pipe be soldered at all?

It can be cut & repaired with a straight/inline connector, even a compression fitting if you can't solder & there is adequate access.

Haven't looked at mine yet. Didn't drain it down over Christmas - I'll check tomorrow.

If you've drained it down using the drain valve pull be fine. I've found that it's not good enough to just disconnect the outlets and drain it down as it still holds a lot of water.

The drain valve is a great protection. I unscrew mine all the way out to make sure, then put it back in when I need to use my boiler again.

No didn`t know anything about draining it down.  The hole is on a small u bend so don't think it could be cut out. Will leave it until tomorrow and see if putty sorts it.

Same happened to me two years ago, i used the stuff they use to seal a hole in an exhaust gun gum i think its called. Anyway, worked a treat.

Yeah. the plumbers mate has worked. Boiler is up and running again. Hopefully will last.
