The Xtreme pole brings a new level of ease of use to the WFP market - this is because of its use of ultra hi-mod carbon and its unique and Patented construction and design. This enables it to be both light and rigid, which is the 'holy grail' for a lot of WFPers - I can't believe that the Xtreme has been on the market for nearly 4 years now

However there is a flip-side and that is that it has very thin wall sections which are not as robust or as wear resistant as an SLX or Super-Max pole. This is the decision that users/buyers face - for some longevity is more important and for others it is lightness/rigidity in use.
We have produced prototype versions of the Xtreme that are even lighter (35ft pole that is 800g), however we found that the strength and longevity decreased as the weight decreased. A balance between the two is needed.
Of course the Xtreme poles are covered under a warranty and if something breaks we will take it back for a full examination and replacement if needed.
With the Xtreme poles it is vital to follow the pole user guide in detail with full cleaning and maintenance to be carried out as per the suggested schedule - most SLX can get away with ignoring such things, but Xtreme users cannot. This is particularly true if the Xtreme is an everyday smaller pole (18-25ft). The larger size Xtremes that get used less often with less opening and closing of sections tend to last much longer - My original Xtreme47 is well over three years old and has very little wear.
We find that the most used section on the Xtreme poles (#2 & #3) can last anywhere from 12 months (under hard use) to 3 years (when very carefully looked after).
