Leaflet question
« on: April 13, 2006, 08:57:58 pm »
Any ideas on the time between repeated leaflet drops to the same area. And will it pay dividends to keep leaflet dropping a particular area over and over and over again. Is there a point where you should stop this repeat leaflet dropping?

I don't do this very frequently as we keep looking for new areas we have not covered before. I would say that we leaflet the same area every 12 months by the time we have got our leaflets around everywhere else.

We all know its pot luck with leaflets, and all i can say is to try and make your leaflet all singing and dancing, so they put it away safe, then when the next cheepie leaflet comes a couple of weeks later, the customer bins it and remembers yours.

When i was in staples the one day, the young lad in front of us had just had leaflets made by them, and funnily enough they were carpet cleaning leaflets and i asked him if i could have one.

looking at them, i felt sorry for him because they came across as cheap and nasty and i can only imagine what the customers would think. I am not being horrible here, but obviously i have learn't this over a period of time, and at one point my leaflets were like his.

On the other hand, he might have made a lot of money?

We are buying in another 25000 A5s double sided glossy 130gms for £298 no vat which we will endeavour to get out as quick as we can which i have designed. Hope this is some help to you.

In my opinion every 12 months is too long.

How often does your local takeaway post a  leaflet.

How often do you get a Aldi Lidl  Tesco type leaflet

We draw up a schedule for the entire year. Some areas give a good response and others don't. Our schedule targets the good areas every 8 weeks and others every 3 months.

We also try to limit the number of leaflets to 5000 per week. Having said this we are struggling to keep to this as we expand in to new areas. Based on this, we try not to spread ourselves too thin and also the cost is getting high
