After spending 30 years in the motor trade I would personally change at 60k or 5 years and f*** what the book says.

when i worked at peugeot we used to change them every 4-5 years or 72k if i remember right on 2.0 hdi although we aways ended up changing half them early due to leaking waterpumps!
used to be able to change them in half hour 45 mins and the book time used to be 4 and half hours, all that extra money i used to put in the dealers pockets, what a mugs game eh spending years how to fix cars to end up waving a pole about spraying magic water and earning double the money i did there!!

SNAP  ;D
There is more ex mechanics on here than anywhere lmao. I packed in due to not like grease on hands no more lol.
Change at 5 years !!!!! belts are great nowadays. Petrol engines put less strain on the oil burners. I used to do at 50k. Normally, belt driven water pumps go first anyway

As above. Gone from being a  commercial mechanic to a window washer. Best move ever.

Did you lock the crankshaft into position by removing the starter motor or did you take a short cut by marking the pulleys and old belt and transferring those markings onto the replacement belt?
