Took the plunge - SLX convert!
« on: September 18, 2014, 09:55:29 pm »
Hey all

Been using a CLX18 for the past couple of years but yesterday I  took delivery of my new SLX18.  I'd also ordered it with the Extreme brush as I thought I might as well go for the additional weight saving against the Superlite I'd been using.

I noticed the lightness straight away but today was the first day using it and all I can say is that I wish I'd done it years ago.  I couldn't believe how much quicker I could work with it compared with the CLX.  I've done my best takings ever today and to be honest I can tell how much less fatigued I feel than I would have.

I know it sounds like a Gardiners advert but if you are thinking about it then I would say spend the extra money and reap the rewards.

Free pen Alex?  ;)

Cheers, Tom

You would have been even more impressed if you had bought an extreme pole.

Wait till you see the new phoenix carbon fiber pole.    ;)

18 ft is too short for lots of my work.even the 22 footer is too short for quite a bit of work.25 ft is just right IMO.

ive had a 25 ft SLX.very good pole but when you have lots of awkward windows to clean at angles like i do the extreme is much lighter and more rigid and makes these windows a lot easier to clean with minimum strain.
price higher/work harder!

Will this one actually be full carbon this time?
Or do we need to buy one first to find out its not?

Yes its "full carbon"  looks and sound like a SLX.  (a full carbon and a hybrid sound different when you open and close the poles"

When I compered the 2 together the phoenix carbon looks like its been woven a little smaller but its only a fraction smaller.

I have just put a UL section on mine tonight to test it next week (the UL section is like the old version, half carbon and half fiberglass)
