Commercial advice needed

Alright lads,

I picked up a couple of commercial jobs this week. I did my quote based on earning£75 an hour. Is that about right or too cheap?

Also got some builders cleans coming up. Has anyone ever quoted an hourly rate rather than a fixed price? I ask as i did one today and it took me longer than expected.

£75 an hour? You'll be the cheapest by far, you'll need to double that to make any serious money after overheads.

Re builders cleans, yes always best to quote an hourly rate as they can take longer, anywhere around £75/hr should secure the job. Just ask that they don't show the joiners / plumbers / plasterers / scaffolders / brickies / tilers your quote, not too sure they will be pleased that the window cleaner is earning 4 x what they are.

I usually ask what the headmaster earns then try to double it. Finding success with this method.

Your better charging what YOU think you are worth.

Trouble is, some people put prices together to gain work, i personally put prices to gain work BUT do it correctly, there is a massive difference.

The job was a straightforward 1 storey building. The time consuming thing wS removing stickers from the frames.

I guess I'll start quoting £200 an hour then.

Some people need to have a reality check?
 £75 an hour is a good rate for window cleaning.

The going rate is around £30 - £50 an hour so if say £75 is good.
