Hi iv just got a new head for my DI and got some of the gardiner Quick Release Metal Hose Plug with ¾" Male Screw Thread but after about two turns thay are hand tight with most of the thread still showing is this ok?
Or do i go all the way in? just wondering if that would nacker the DI head any help?

When assembling these you will need to use a few wraps of PTFE thread on the metal thread to ensure water tightness. You need to be careful to not cross-thread the DI head so I usually wrap the PTFE tape around the metal thread leaving the first turn of the metal fitting thread showing to ensure that the threads line up.

If you have it correctly lined up then it should be able to be turned into the DI head by a good 1- 2cm. You will probably need a spanner to achieve this though.

                iv just tryed them with no tape to see how far they go in and its just a few turns till its hand tight,so do i get a spanner and keep going? are they ment to be this tight.

i thought because they have a flange i thought it would tighten to that.

HI Joe

How far in they go will depend on the depth of the female thread on your DI head unit. If it is has a depth of 15mm then this is how far they can go in and so on. They have been made with a fairly deep male thread to be suitable to use with a variety of female sockets - this does not mean that all of the thread needs to be used.

In most cases you would need to use a spanner in order to assemble these fitting into a head.
