New super max 50
« on: May 30, 2014, 05:38:37 pm »
Chaps what's the difference between this one 50ft super max with the new clamps and the 47ft extreme. Or what's the best to use.

Also with the super max what length would the extension be as I would probably just leave the extension on at all times.

Thanks in advance

Cheers Dannymack

You want the Xtreme Danny, forget about the Smax unless it's the High-mod version. The Xtreme with one extension is far better at those heights. ;)

The Xtreme, with ONE extension is still fully telescopic. It's only when you add more sections that they then become modular.

Cheers Winp just wondering what the difference was with them both. Is the xtreme sections around 5 + 1/2 ft each ?

Not sure Danny but they are in easy reach & I'm only 5'7"!!

The Smax is a longer SLX, the Smax high-mod is a better option but the Xtreme is the best option. More expensive I know but trust me, working at 50ft is no joke, you want the best pole you can possibly get! Really easy to get up & down & very versatile. To give you an idea, you can hoist the Xtreme 47 up from the ground at full length! Try doing that with any other pole. It's not easy, but you can do it. I used to have a Facelift full carbon (old Facelift, not the more recent version) & you had to walk it up the wall at 40ft.

If you want the ultimate @ 50ft then the SL2 modular just pips the Xtreme- however, it's quite fragile & not versatile, really only a better option if you are working at 50ft day in day out.

From ground to first clamp "lever" (including butt cap) is exactly 5' 6".

Cheers Winp that's a great help I'm about 5ft 8 so the extreme 47 ft ill go for extension. Do you know what lengths the extensions are m8 as I wanna get to around 55ft.

Thanks again for your help much appreciated.
It's alot of money to fork out so I gotta get the right pole.

Extension is 5' 10" but deduct 8" for overlap, so 5' 2" effective length

If it helps I can measure the whole pole with extension but you'll get your 55ft reach with this I'm sure.

The other thing to bear in mind too Danny is that you can break the Xtreme pole down to any length you like very easily. You can remove sections in seconds & for example, use it as a 30ft pole if you wish without being burdened with the sections you don't need.

That sounds alright Winp sorry don't know your name. Think ill got for the extreme 47ft with one extension. I got the xtel 47 ft but soooo heavy. Ill prob just leave it at the 52ft as I got the slx 37ft I think it is but main pole I just use the unger 27ft with Gardiners sill brush. Only cheap pole but last years and with there clamps you can take them off put some elecy tape underneath and the clamps are like new.

Cheers for your help much appreciated will order one
