Conservatory roofs, aaaaarrrrgggghhh!
« on: May 27, 2014, 12:40:29 pm »
Hello!
I've been set up now for a couple of months, it's going fairly well but I'm having a era curing problem getting conservatory roofs completely clear of moss etc. it doesn't seem, no matter how hard or how often I put my brush over it, there's always more there. Is there a special magic tool to use? It's frustrating!

Non-caustic, diluted traffic film remover (TFR) followed by a thorough water rinse within a few minutes.  That usually takes the worst off.  Maybe use an old, manky brush except for the final finish.  I save old brushes for stuff like that.

Try and use a flocked brush, and as said spray TFR on the roof, and scrub, re-apply, scrub, and then rise off.

TFR doesn'y help with moss. Practice and perseverance.

very dirty roof with moss, sweep as much off as you can with a dry brush before you get anything wet. If it has annoying corners or overhangs with inaccessable to easily remove dirt or moss, plug in a hose pipe to an outside tap and give it a blast to flush it all out. Then spray tfr or whatever and brush and rinse with wfp.

brush any loose moss off with a dry brush

spray with virosol in a 5L pressure sprayer

leave for 5 mins then scrub and rinse long and hard!ideally with extension hose on customers outside tap as the flow is much stronger and its saves your pure for windows.

i use a stiff radius sill brush on a 55degree gooseneck.

job done.
price higher/work harder!
