The problem is the customer will just lie to save face.

Are they gonna tell you Hubby doesn't wanna pay? Times are hard? Only wants a clean here and there? Etc etc.

I never bother asking customers as it's usually a lie.
No, you get your missus to do it  ;D.

A marked drop in quality is the issue here.

Sorry to hear that David.

Had one recently cancel monthly front (big front) £10.

custie text "thank you for your service, but decided our windows no longer need cleaning"

I sent text back saying could do bi-monthly at same price halving their billl.

Reply was: "thanks we will need them doing from time to time so will be in touch" ::)roll

Also had the gate issue as gold; use to climb over then was told it would give people ideas :D

Custie asked for text to unlock gate.

Next month i text them was asked to leave it that month not conveineant.

Another customer email'd me to say they found my cleaning method unsatisfactory.
Done their windows for nearly a year semi-detached £12 allround.
Was told previous windie was half price £6.

Unfortunately window cleaning is a luxury not a nesscesity.

I think for a lot of people money is getting tighter and i can see frequencies changing I am planning on building a better round at 6 weeks at 8 visits a year.

Putting prices up is recieved with change to bi-monthly, at times

I believe that a lot of traders were every 2 weeks 10+years ago.

Then 4 weeks became the norm.
I think we may need to change.
Even those that can afford it seem to hard work ;D

Please note: i use to be indecisive----but now i'm not sure

Should have divulged your old username sooner imo! Especially considering you were a respected poster!
