No way in this world would I trust some broker's word over the phone!
GET IT IN WRITING!
Each and every exception, alteration etc should be SPECIFICALLY mentioned on the actual policy document itself.
It doesn't matter a single jot if a broker like A-Plan happens to have it on their own records, the actual insurer (eg Zurich etc) must have it, otherwise it's worth nothing. I have noticed that brokers will often say just about anything to get rid of you, keep you quiet etc.
The insurer won't make any ammendments at all without issuing new policy documents, so if you don't have them then you aren't covered. End of.
