You would have had an L come up when the battery voltage dropped to 11.5v.

The U means that the battery voltage is below 10.3 and the controller has cut the power to the pump to prevent you damaging your battery.

As per goto - the battery desperately needs charging.

Under pressure, if it happens again while working turn it off and make sure that if you have a tap on your hose that it's open, turn varistream on and it will run but as soon as you stop the water on tap or pinch hose etc the U will come back

I Came across this article recently it explains well what happens with the battery during charge/discharge cycles
Battery Basics: http://www.progressivedyn.com/battery_basics.html

It may also be worth checking your cables for any damage or wear, Poor or broken connectors can lead to a voltage drop between the battery and your Varistream.

I've noticed this on mine. Usually have my dig varistream on 4. Turned it up to 5 for a job I only do every few months yesterday and it went to u. Turned it back down to 4 and it was fine. Was the last job of the day. My leisure battery is also about 2 years old. Maybe time for a replacement

Same here (well was) Pump is drawing more powwwwaar from battery and throwing up the U

u = is basically the cutoff 10.3/10.6/10.5V volts showing on battery.

Yep. L = Low Battery
       U = Undervoltage

Flashes L first then when it's too low U flashes and eveything goes into meltdown ;D
