Changed my resin last week as my tds had gone from around 6ppm to 8ppm.
Have been working with it at around 6ppm for about 4 months.
But the thing I have noticed is that the windows seem a lot easier to clean.
A lot of the scum is being removed with a lot less effort and the same with bird muck.
Over this last few weeks its been a nightmare trying to remove some of the crap left on the windows
by the storms but this now feels a lot easier to do.
Has anybody else noticed this or know of any reason why this might be the case.

Dont hold me to this but it may be because pure water is more absorbant
Water wants to absorb, so the purer it is the more it wants to absorb (in this case) dirt, and so will break down bird mess etc quicker....

On the other hand, you're not talking about a huge ppm difference so it may just be a coincidence!!

NO! At such a small difference it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever. In fact, in the trials I've done, pure water is no better than tap water at removing dirt- obviously tap water will leave mineral marks but there is no noticeable difference at removing the dirt from glass. If you notice a difference then it's either a different set of circumstances (which it is anyway) or psychological.

Well I had some pure water once and it was so hungry to return to its natural state it ate my t shirt!
My water is so aggressive it picks fights with everyone!
I drank some pure water once and it stripped out my insides!

If it was a different set of circumstances or just a slight difference in the removal of dirt then I would agree that's its
all in my imagination.
But I'm talking about a huge difference in the ease of cleaning.
I know at the end of the day the new resin only takes out the dissolved solids to below 0ppm but is it possible
that it makes the water more absorbent and better at breaking down dirt as well.
Another point is that my R.O. water is 11ppm so what is my new resin reducing the tds by.
How far below 000ppm is it going.

We are talking "parts per million" here. It's impossible for this MINUTE difference in the amount of total dissolved solids to be making any humanly noticeable difference to the cleaning ability of your water. I often clean with water up to 30/40PPM- there is no noticeable difference between this & when I fill with new resin.

I'm not so sure.

I've noticed spotting at 007.

Now my ro brings my tap water down to 003 and that's without DI. so I'm laughing.
