help with amending an invoice please
« on: March 21, 2006, 10:33:05 am »
sorry to be so dim, but could someone please give me a hand with an invoice.

The cost is changing mid month and i'm trying to get my head around it.

Yearly total was £2340 from 18th feb06 - 20th March06
I invoice on the 1st day of the month.

Yearly total as of 21st March will be £4680
but we have already invoiced for feb (on the 18thfeb) and invoiced for march (1st march)
so i need to amend 21st-31st march on the april invoice and add the april total, which i think will only be 10 months instead of 12, as 2 invoices have already been issued.

easy things confuse me, more complex things i fine with lol

Hiya!
Yes i invoice in advance, my last invoice was issued 1st march and covers the whole month, to be paid 30 days nett.

See if you can work it out, i'll see if i get my head around it, then we can compare  ;D

my head hurts already

So when you quote, you quote for the yearly amount and not the monthly charge? otherwise you could have charged them the new rate for April, then worked out what percentage of cleans you did in march, then add them together with the new rate, (£390.00 per calendar month) i think you've made it more complicating than it should be ??? :P..

Thats brill chris thanks.

so my march one is normal £206.80
and my april invoice will have £390 plus the extra from march £66.70 (works out 6.67 per day, 10 days of the month to charge for extra hours)

Does that look right?

if its 5 days a week that works out at £18 per clean, so you need to charge the customer 9 days cleaning at the new rate which works out at £162, add that to your new " normal monthly rate £390" and they owe you £552.00 ;D ....

they just had to pay me for the extra hours as they have already paid me for the normal hours in the march invoice.
Yes its 5 days.
I'm even more confused now :)

ok, think i understand now,

normal new monthly charge will be £390.00
they would have had to pay you the£162.00(owe you for march new rate)for the 9 days
but..they have paid you allready at old rate(for march)
so now all you have to do is half the £162  = £81
So now add the £390 +£81=they owe you £471.00

 ;D
