I've just received 2 x new sill brushes and will let you know tomorrow what I think. Been using the medium mixed dual trim? For a couple of years with no major problems. Just the odd scratched sill so thought is give the sill brush a try

Personally if you are just converting your round and would defo go for a SuperLite medium mixed good all round brush get a brush bumper as well until you get used to doing wfp it will save your brush if you catch window reveals . Mike

I'd go for the sill brush, I've used one for ages and recently got a dual trim medium mixed with a new pole I ordered and it feels like a brick on the end of the pole compared to the sill brush.

Super-Lite DT Medium-Mixed would be my recommendation - a good all rounder.

Not a great fan of the Super lite DT medium mixed brush.
I find the longer outer bristles are too stiff this means you need to put a lot of pressure on the brush
to get the shorter inside bristles touching the glass.
The medium mixed xtreme is a better brush and a lot easier on the arms.

The brush is designed like that. Extra scrubbing power when you need it.

I wouldn't want todo first cleans with an extreme brush.

as your doing a lot of first cleans i would also recommend the SL DT standard brush.its great for dirty jobs.

however for regular maintenance window cleaning extreme brushes are the best for me for ease of use.

in fact extreme brushes are used for all my work bar dirty first cleans and add on jobs.

medium mixed or stiff bristle extremes     regular work

medium or stiff bristle radius sills      F/S/G and conny roof cleans

flocked SL standard on 90 degree gooseneck     solar panel cleaning

SL medium mixed standard    very dirty first cleans
price higher/work harder!

I have always found trying to find the right brushes from Gardiner's website very confusing.  I can find the brush I want from their PDF guide, but finding it on their site - they've got SuperLite, Xtreme and SuperLite Sill brushes, which then drills down to different sub types: SL dual trim medium mixed, dual trim flocked, stiff, flocked 0', medium mixed 0', Xtreme medium mixed, hybrid, soft flocked hybrid, soft hybrid, stiff DT.  There are a few key terms that are then mixed and matched around different brushes!

I originally got the SuperLite Sill Medium Mixed DT when I order my SLX18 which I hope is this one http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/the-super-lite-radius-sill-brush-dual-trim-medium-bristles-white.html.  The name on my invoice does not match either sill brushes on their site!  But they don't have red inner bristles.  At least I don't think so, I only used it a couple of times because, while I like the idea of it scrubbing the sills, it was no good on first cleans, of which all of mine are for the time being - is this a good brush to come back to for maintenance cleans?  It didn't seem to scrub any dirt off the window, or maybe I wasn't being aggressive enough when I first started wfp.

I also got a SuperLite Xtreme Soft Flocked Hybrid, this http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-Super-Lite--Xtreme-Soft-Flocked-Hybrid-FLHY.html which is supposed to be really good for leaded windows, but on cleaning the insides after the outsides, there were little spots all over the windows.  This house has two bay windows with the top windows of each bay leaded, bottom windows of each are normal plain.  I did the leaded with the soft flocked hybrid, normal windows with the brush below, these normal windows had no spots.  Water was fine, so I guess technique, or the fact they were filthy and will need a couple of cleans to get them good?  I couldn't get a good angle on the windows because of bushes, and while the Xtreme brush is very light, I couldn't get the outer bristles to splay on the window to give them a good scrubbing with the inners, it tended to bounce off the window instead.  So, is this soft flocked hybrid really only for maintenance cleans on leadeds, in which case I would need a medium mixed hybrid http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-Super-Lite--Xtreme-Medium-Mixed---NEW-DESIGN-BRUSH_XTREME_MXHY.html or the normal medium mixed (i.e. not the hybrid) http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-Super-Lite--Xtreme-Soft--Black--BRUSH_SL_XTREME_MM.html?  Or a Soft Hybrid, or a Stiff DT?  Too confusing!  I'd also like to know the difference between a brush hybrid and not!

So onto my main brush, which I'm currently using for every first clean, and probably every maintenance clean, unless I've got this wrong too!  I am using (according to my invoice!) the SuperLite Xtreme Medium Mixed (http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-Super-Lite--Xtreme-Soft--Black--BRUSH_SL_XTREME_MM.html) and am realising for the first time, in typing these words, that my main brush is an Xtreme brush, when I had assumed the whole time, that it was a normal SuperLite one (like this http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/the-super-lite-brush-dual-trim-medium-mixed-bristles.html), odd because the Xtreme Soft Flocked Hybrid above that I use for leadeds, feels so much lighter when cleaning, compared to the Xtreme Medium Mixed.  Maybe that's the brain playing tricks then as I was expecting it to feel lighter, therefore it would...

One thing I've noticed about my Xtreme MM, is as I scrub the tops of the windows left to right, it sometimes leaves lines of dots of water from the bristles, which I can't then rinse off afterwards as they're too close to the top of the window pane.  So am I using the wrong brush for first cleans?  I love the scrubbing power of this brush, a little extra pressure and the outer bristles splay out and the black inners get in there and do a great job.  So much so that I've started using this on the leaded windows too rather than mess around changing brush heads - pushing that little metal button in then sliding the square end off the neck, it's all very very stiff and time consuming.

Maybe the Xtreme Stiff DT?

I also read about mono vs flocked (think there a poll somewhere on here about that), the differences of which are beyond me though it would appear I have one of each brush, plus my sill brush I don't use.  All this choice is great, but from the number of brush related threads on here, I'm not alone in it bewildering me!
