Solar panel pricing 4x 50 kw
« on: January 28, 2014, 04:08:44 pm »
I have been asked to quote for 4 x 50 kw arrays, just wondering if anyone could help me out with pricing it, they want the panels cleaning regular and were installed in 2011 being the oldest. I have cleaned plenty of domestic panels but have no idea on arrays like this. They are all easily accesible. I would really appreciate some help, if you don't want to talk prices on here you can pm me or email me on luke@intelli-clean.co.uk

Thanks in advance
Luke

Price it per panel.
£1 a panel is a top end price, anything below that and you'll be fine.
(Not that you are but) try not to be greedy.
It's easy work, monotonous but easy.
Have they asked you for any risk assessment or method statement?

It's just the internet. Try not to worry.

Yes they have asked for risk assessment,  which is fine, I'm used to doing them. I'm going tomorrow to have a look at the job and will go from there. I was thinking below £1 a panel but will decide on the exact price after i have had a look. I  just wanted to get an idea on pricing as I don't want to be way out

I wouldn't worry about the risk assessment. I think the accepted rule (clean it up rule 513) is if they need cleaning in a rush then RAMS are not required.

Hi Luke. I gotta say I'm genuinely surprised by the lack of responses on this.  :o

I'm obviously not going to say what I would charge,  :-X but will say that at 50KW, the H & S side of things is different to a residential. Make sure you know what you are doing mate. :)

I am too!

Thanks Steve,

Yes I know they are very different and have been speaking with a company which installs solar farms (one of my customers) who has been in the business a long time, im still learning and just want to do the job safely which I'm confident i will.

I wasn't expecting anyone to tell me exact prices, just a rough guide which Darren helped with, there is no way I could get away with charging £1 a panel on this job as there is 814 of them with easy access , was thinking around 45p a panel.

Good pricing structure. It's no more than a days work. £360.

The music used on the video should carry a health and safety warning too.
